Does everyone eventually grow wisdom teeth?

Angela Canfield
Dentist
No everyone does not have wisdom teeth. Some people we have just two and not four. It really varies on each individual.

Not everyone develops wisdom teeth. However, those that do usually see their wisdom teeth push through the gums or remain impacted between ages 17-21.

There are no statistics on how many people grow wisdom teeth, but many of us never develop wisdom teeth (third molars). Among the wisdom teeth that do grow, some will only partially erupt and others will remain buried under the gum tissue without problem.
