In The Wisdom of the Body, first published in 1939, Dr. Walter B. Cannon  recognizes that natural processes of your body are set up to maintain optimal physiological balance. This is known as homeostasis. Furthermore, he explains that to keep this balance, the mind/brain must receive iniformation input that constantly reports the status and condition of all of the tissues of the body. For Dr. Cannon, homeostasis is a dynamic, ongoing process that involves multiple interrelated systems whose primary purpose is your survival and health.
