SOME OVERALL RECOMMENDATIONS POST-SURGERY:  

  • Introduce your diet gradually
  • Eat slowly and chew your foods very well
  • Drink water and other liquids in small sips
  • Eat every 3h, respect mealtimes
  • Have proper hydration
  • Eat your meals on smaller plates and bowls
  • Use sweetener if needed, instead of sugar 
  • Avoid industrialized foods
  • Do not drink alcohol and fizzy drinks
  • Respect your individual tolerance
  • Prefer protein foods
  • Avoid high-calorie foods
  • Pay attention to the amount supported by your gastric pouch
  • Reintroduce foods slowly, trying one at a time
  • Avoid eating concentrated foods: sugary and fatty foods in general
  • Avoid drinking fluids with meals
  • Increase dietary fiber intake
  • Take the supplements prescribed by your dietitian!
