During week 27, you may experience some muscle cramping in your legs. This is because there is a lot of weight on your legs and sometimes that excess weight pinches a vein that delivers blood and oxygen to your legs. They may also be caused by the change in the way your body processes calcium during pregnancy. These cramps are most common at night and can be helped by massaging your calf, flexing your toes, walking or eating calcium-rich foods. As you prepare for the last trimester of pregnancy, you may feel increasingly clumsy or immobile because of your increasing size.
