Can I find out the sex of my baby in week 14 of pregnancy?

By week 14, your baby's external genitalia are becoming more distinct. In fact, doctors may be able to determine the sex of your baby through an ultrasound! However, every baby develops differently, so it may be too early to tell. Either way, you and your partner should start discussing when you want to find out whether you're having a boy or a girl. Some people like to find out as early as possible so they can prepare names or buy "gender-specific" clothes and decorations, while other couples want it to be a surprise. Since your doctor may do an ultrasound at your next prenatal appointment, it's a good idea to decide now when you want to find out so that you can tell your doctor to tell you—or not to tell you!—during the upcoming ultrasound.

The sex of the baby can be identified as early as week 10 based on a new blood test. The blood test can help identify issues with a baby early in the pregnancy.
