When does dehydration become a serious condition?

Dehydration is a medical state when a person has lost too much water and salt. This can cause severe imbalance in the body’s functions. If not treated in a timely and proper manner, dehydration can lead to death.

When dehydration becomes severe enough to cause neurologic problems—confusion, weakness or becoming comatose—it's referred to as heat stroke.
