Walking with your best friend is a great way to spend time together and to improve both yours and their health. The key to walking with man’s best friend is to remember that dogs will only follow your lead and instructions if they believe you are in charge of the pack. Maintain authority and use a strong posture and voice and your best friend will follow your commands and go where ever you want him to go.
Walking your dog is a very beneficial way to exercise your cardiovascular system. What better way then to walk your best friend(to most of us) and to get a great workout. You can add walking up hills and add ankle weights to make it more challenging. You can even start jogging as a progression to just walking but always be aware of your surrounding and if walking at night make sure you're in a well lit area. Now go enjoy the great outdoors and the great benefits of getting your body in motion.

OK, understand that somewhere during your walk with your dog, they want to run.  Understand that they have been sitting in the house or backyard most of the day and simply want to break free.  Start jogging or running with your dog.  Unless they are completely sedentary, no matter what kind of dog you have, they have a lot more stamina than you.  Remember that when you are walking your dog they see it as your sharing their world.  So start running and watch how happy they become.
