What healthy snacks complement a walking program?

Many think that eating healthy is hard, but when you are prepared, it is easier than you think. Here are some quick snacks that you can include before or after a walk.
  • Hummus and vegetables
  • Salsa mixed with black beans plus 1 oz baked chips
  • One slice of wheat toast with honey and peanut butter
  • Apples with peanut butter
  • For quick energy with added protein, mix 1 tbsp. of peanut butter with 1 teaspoon of honey
  • Fruit plus yogurt
*Be prepared. Portion out snacks ahead of time so that you always have something healthy available.
