What are some tips for walking in a charity walk?

In preparation for your charity walking event start by walking several days a week several weeks before the charity. If you're over 40 or have a recent history of heart disease, diabetes, or orthopedic problems, consult a doctor before starting your program. If its been a while since you walked regularly start with 10-15 minutes and work your way up to approximately 7 of the distance you need to walk on the day of the charity event. For example, if your charity event is a 10k walk, or 62 miles, you should work up to approximately 5 miles the week leading up to your event. On the day of the event you should be able to cover the other 25 with no issues.
