The shark skill test is a great assessment that measures front-to-back movement, lateral movement, coordination, and control of the core and hips. During this assessment, the athlete begins in the center of a nine-square box and hops with both feet in a left-to-right pattern. The athlete is timed from beginning to end. One second may be deducted if the athlete touches the parameter of the grid. The test may also be done with a single-foot hop.
