Zemplar (paricalcitol) may interact badly with some other medications, including ketoconazole, atazanavir, clarithromycin, indinavir, itraconazole, nefazodone, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, telithromycin or voriconazole. Cholestyramine and mineral oil may hamper the absorption of Zemplar. Before taking Zemplar, you should tell your doctor about all medications, including prescription and nonprescription drugs, vitamins, minerals, or herbal supplements you take regularly or occasionally. You should not take other sources of vitamin D, calcium, or phosphorus while taking Zemplar unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so. Also, you should avoid combining Zemplar with grapefruit juice.
