Who should not take Calciferol?

Your doctor may not recommend Calciferol if you have:

  • kidney disease
  • liver disease
  • parathyroid disease
  • heart disease
  • coronary artery disease
  • stomach problems
  • electrolyte imbalance
  • excess blood levels of calcium or vitamin D
  • malabsorption or an allergy to vitamin D, other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor can best determine whether you should take Calciferol based on your condition. Speak with your doctor regarding Calciferol if you take any of the following medications:

  • antacids
  • digoxin
  • diuretics
  • medicines for cholesterol, such as colestipol or cholestyramine
  • medicines to treat seizures or nerve pain
  • mineral oil
  • orlistat
  • steroids
  • sucralfate

Your doctor may suggest other ways to treat your condition.
