You might not feel any differently after taking Zemplar, but your doctor can use regular blood tests to monitor whether your symptoms are improving. For the first three months, your doctor will test your blood at least every two weeks. For the next three months, your doctor will test your blood at least once a month. After you have been on Zemplar for six months, your doctor will test your blood at least every three months. The blood tests will reveal how Zemplar is affecting your body's levels of calcium, phosphorus, and parathyroid hormone.
