Can vitamin C boost fitness?

I’ve seen some articles suggesting that vitamin C may help with fitness. Unfortunately, looking at the studies, research just does not bear this out, with no evidence that it does truly improve fitness or recovery. It’s always worth repeating, however, that a diet rich in all nutrients (including vitamin C) is the best for all types of fitness. Also, the most proven way to get the benefit from those nutrients is to eat them in real foods -- fruits, veggies, and other healthy sources - as opposed to from supplements.
