People often see their doctors when they have lymphadenopathy, or swollen lymph nodes (also called swollen glands). There are many possible causes for this condition, and your doctor will probably want to rule out serious illness as a cause. See your doctor if your lymph nodes continue to grow or get hard, or you've had them for more than two weeks. Lymph nodes that drain pus are another possible sign of a serious condition. Fever, sore throat, and weight loss are other reasons to see a doctor. You should also see your doctor if your lymph nodes look red or feel warm.
