What are the symptoms of verrucous carcinoma?

Symptoms of verrucous carcinoma vary depending on the location of the tumor. Verrucous carcinoma causes tumors, but this may not be the symptom that people notice directly because it can form in areas that aren't visible. If it occurs on the sole of the foot, verrucous carcinoma tumors may look like plantar warts, or small, cauliflower-like growths. The tumors also look that way if they form in the oral cavity, and there it may cause hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and a sore throat. Tumors often form in areas that have scars or ulcers that won't heal, especially in people with diabetes.
