There is currently no generic version of the rotavirus vaccine. Both Rotarix and RotaTeq, the two brands of the vaccine currently on the market, are in a class of drugs called biologic. Generic biologics are not currently legal and will not be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) unless there is a change in the present law.
