If your child is experiencing pain during urination, consult your doctor. Pain while urinating may be a symptom of a bladder or urinary tract infection which may be easily treatable, but it may also be a sign of something more serious, especially if it recurs. A bladder infection may be caused by a physical abnormality like a restriction in the flow of urine from the urethra or a faulty connection between the kidneys and the bladder. The doctor can examine your child for indications of the underlying cause, prescribe necessary tests, and diagnose and treat the problem.
