Are there any specific exercises that will help keep my shoulders healthy?

Healthy shoulders have good range of motion, proper strength, and are free of pain. A few flexibility exercises to ensure optimal range of motion include static stretching for the latissimus dorsi, chest, triceps and biceps. When performing static stretching, hold each stretch for a minimum of 30 seconds. This will allow the muscles enough time to relax and elongate to an ideal resting length. In addition it will be a good idea to include strengthening exercises for your rotator cuff muscles such as a cable shoulder external rotation, dumbbell scaption and a combination exercise for the shoulder we call Ball Combo 1. These exercises help train the shoulder to work functionally so that traditional exercises or daily activities will not over tax your shoulders.
