Is circuit training a good way to improve strength conditioning for track?

Circuit training is a great way to improve overall conditioning in the pre-season. It is a great whole body conditioning program that works all body parts and the cardiovascular system by using short rest intervals. It is a great way to get ready for heavier, more intense lifting that is to come when the season starts. In addition, circuit training is a great way to get fit for younger athletes (fifteen and under) who should not be lifting heavy weights due to their bodies not being mature enough or fully developed. Cross country runners, who do not lift heavy weights, can also improve their fitness and endurance by doing circuit training with higher repetitions and a shorter rest periods.
