A superset means doing two exercises one right after the other. It can be two exercises involving the same muscles or opposing muscles. Triceps extensions to stability ball triceps extensions would be an example of a superset. An example of a superset with opposing muscles would be triceps extensions to bicep curls. Supersets can also be done with three exercises, or tri-sets, for the same muscle group. 

Supersets are good for muscle hypertrophy and are typically done by bodybuilders. It is also good for muscle endurance. Using supersets can lead to overtraining, so be sure to progress gradually. 

The term superset refers to the act of performing two exercises back-to-back without rest.Supersets can be performed for the same muscle group or movement pattern as well as opposing muscle groups or movement patterns. An example of a superset for the same muscle group or movement pattern would be to perform an exercise for the chest such as dumbbell chest presses followed immediately by another chest exercise such as the push-ups. Alternatively, an example of a superset for opposing muscle groups or movement patterns would be to perform an exercise for the chest such as dumbbell chest presses followed immediately by an exercise for the muscles of the back such as dumbbell rows.
