What is the best time to exercise during the summer?

During the summer months, sometimes the temperature can get very high, and we see more heatstroke with athletes and during exercise. If you live in an area where it gets very hot, make sure to exercise in the early morning or late at night, when the temperature is at its lowest. If the temperature is always too hot, then you should make sure to exercise indoors, at a gym, or do an outdoor activity that keeps your internal temperature down, like swimming.
When the weather starts to warm up during the day, consider scheduling outdoor exercise activities, like biking or running, in the morning or later in the evening. The sun is hottest at midday and should be avoided. (This answer provided for NATA by the Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Training Education Program)
