How do I perform a triceps one-arm overhead extension?

Stand facing forward head forward, with your spine in neutral alignment, extend your arm directly over the head holding a dumbbell in your hand. Hold on to your extended arm with your other hand for stabilization and with your palm facing to forward bend your extended arm so that the dumbbell lowers towards your head, once the elbow has been bent to 90 degree contract the triceps muscle to straighten your arm.

Making sure to keep your elbow in line with your top of your head, extend your arm to a straight position.  Bend your elbow back down to lower the weight towards your back.  The entire time, you want to make sure your shoulder doesn't move and that the elbow is doing all the work.  If desired, you can hold your working arm with the other hand to cue the tricep muscle and make sure that the movement isn't in the shoulder.
