If you want to start getting back into the swing of fitness there many low risk activities you can engage in that will improve your health and over all fitness. Probably, the single best and safest activity is going for a walk daily either by yourself or with friends. Joining a walking or hiking club will provide large amounts of health benefits and is very safe and low risk. Studies have shown that people who take 10,000 steps a day are significantly healthier than people who take 4-5,000 steps regardless of gender, race, or weight. Other low risk past times include bowling, golf, bicycling, and water aerobics. All provide lots of health benefits and are low impact and have a low risk of injuries.
