It’s important to know how your body is responding to exercise during an exercise session. Be aware of your body, your form and how well you can control your body during exercise. Do not ever sacrifice form for performance, and never use too much weight, or move at too high of a tempo to maintain proper form. Also be conscious of any signs or symptoms of trouble like pain in the chest, or a joint, dizziness, shortness of breath, or dull aching pains after exercise.  

The single most important thing you can do is pay attention to your body. Don't ignore the little aches and pains in the joints and muscles. They are early signals that could help you prevent more serious injuries.
