To perform a 1 hand medicine ball push up, place a hand on the ball and place the other hand on the ground for stability(for beginners). Start with both arms extended. Slowly lower your body down toward the floor until your chest touches the back of your hand on the medicine ball. Repeat for 12-15 reps, and then switch hands. After becoming proficient at this exercise with one hand on the ground, progress the exercise by placing both hands on the medicine ball and complete the same motion as you did with one hand on the ground. After successfully completing 15-20 reps with both hands on the ball, finally progress the exercise by placing 1 hand on the top of the medicine ball and the other hand at your side. Repeat previous motion with the same smooth control especially lowering your body slowly down to the top of the hand that is on the ball. Repeat for 12-15 times then switch hands and repeat same reps with opposite hand.
Begin in a push-up position with your feet together and toes on the floor. With your hands placed slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, place one hand on a medicine ball and one hand on the floor. Draw in your navel and contract your glutes. With your back flat, slowly lower your body toward the floor, lowering and contracting your shoulder blades. Push back up to the starting position being careful not to jut your head forward.
