Exercise has tremendous amounts of benefits.  Below is a start of an endless list:

  • Increased lean muscle mass which will increase your metabolism which will assist in weight loss
  • Improve self-esteem and morale
  • Improve immune system
  • Stronger heart and lungs

These are just some of many.  Exercise will help lead to a healthy lifestyle and add years to your life!

Exercise does help diminish and alleviate existing health conditions but there are also many psychological pro's to exercise that also help support good health. Exercise helps keep you healthy and strong in body, mind and spirit. Exercise allows people to sleep better. Its effective for depression, anxiety and helps alter moods to positive levels. Physical activity provide biochemical changes in the brain increasing the concentration of positive neurochemicals such as endorphins and serotonin. Exercise is also positively associated with changes in brain wave activity allowing for a more calm mental state. 

Exercise can lead to good health in several ways depending on the mode, volume, and intensity of the exercise. Some of the benefits of exercise include:

·         Combats several chronic diseases such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes

·         Reduces high blood pressure and high cholesterol

·         Improves bone density and reduces the risk of osteoporosis

·         Decreases body fat and helps maintain a healthy weight

·         Increases and preserves lean body mass (muscle)

·         Improves flexibility and joint health

·         Improves mood, memory, and other cognitive functions

·         Improves sleep

·         Increases energy levels

The effects of exercise on the brain are truly remarkable. When you move your body in exercise, your muscles churn out several different kinds of growth factors, all sorts of feel-good chemicals such as serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, endocannabinoids, and endorphins. If you want to learn better, have more energy, be more alert, and feel happier and less stressed, a solid exercise program is always your best bet.
