Yes, there are a variety of different types of supersets you can perform during your workouts each with their own benefit. A superset is simply referring to the act of performing two exercises back-to-back without rest. Therefore, supersets can be performed for the same muscles or muscle groups as well as for opposing muscles or muscle groups. Additionally, supersets may consist of different styles of exercise for the same muscle or muscle groups such as the first exercise of the superset being more strength oriented folllowed immediately by an exercise that is more stability or endurance oriented. Another variation of the superset is called a giant set. A giant set consists of three or more exercises performed in a row for a particular muscle group or movement pattern. An example of a giant set for the back muscles would be to perform a set of inverted rows, followed by a set of dumbbell rows, followed by a set of machine rows.
