Toxoplasmosis can often be confused with other illnesses since some of the symptoms may resemble the flu. Additionally, those suffering from weakened immune systems due to illnesses like HIV/AIDS or conditions like an organ transplant may also have seizures, confusion, and blurred vision, and will have a harder time recovering. Once an individual with HIV/AIDS is infected by toxoplasmosis, they typically have to stay on medication for the rest of their lives.
