How does flumazenil interact with other medications?

Tell your doctor about all of the medicines, supplements or vitamins that you take (prescription or over-the-counter) as any drug has the possibility to interact with other medicines. You should not drink alcohol or take depressants or any drugs that cause drowsiness within 24 hours of using flumazenil, as it may amplify their effects.

You should not use this drug if you have overdosed on antidepressants. If you take any of the following prescription medicines, you may not be able to use flumazenil, as it may increase the risk of side effects or impair the effectiveness of one or both drugs: seizure medications; antidepressants such as amitriptyline, amoxapine (Ascendin), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), doxepin (Sinequan), imipramine (Janimine, Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), protriptyline (Vivactil) or trimipramine (Surmontil); diazepam (Valium) or similar medicines, such as alprazolam (Xanax), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), clorazepate (Tranxene), estazolam (ProSom), flurazepam (Dalmane), lorazepam (Ativan), midazolam (Versed), temazepam (Restoril), triazolam (Halcion) and eszopiclone (Lunesta).
