How does acid reflux cause tooth erosion?

Acid reflux can erode teeth in the same way that vomiting does. During the reflux episodes, small amounts of stomach acid travel into your mouth, land oand begin to damage the enamel. The more reflux you have, the more your teeth are exposed to stomach acid.

Chronic acid attacks (from any source) can dissolve the enamel.

In the case of reflux, if it is a consistent problem, talk to your medical doctor (or better yet, a gastroenterologist).
