What are the side effects of thyroid (Armour Thyroid)?

Thyroid (Armour Thyroid) does not usually cause side effects. If there are side effects, they may include: temporary hair loss, often in children; uncontrolled shaking and twitching; weight loss; headache; nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps; diarrhea; hyperactivity; irritability, anxiety, mood changes, and insomnia; flushing; changes in menstrual cycle; increased appetite; and muscle weakness. The following side effects require immediate medical attention: difficulty breathing and swallowing, rash, hives, chest pain, racing or irregular heartbeat, profuse sweating, nervousness, seizure, and swelling of lips, tongue, throat, face, feet, ankles, legs, or hands. There may be other side effects not listed here.
