The primary symptom of hyposmia is a reduced sense of smell. In its milder forms, hyposmia may not even be noticeable. Hyposmia may be temporary, as is the case with nasal congestion. Severe hyposmia may inhibit your ability to smell sharp odors like smoke or spoiled food.
