How many people suffer from hyposmia?

Between one and two percent of North Americans suffer from hyposmia or another smell disorder. Smell disorders like hyposmia are more common in the elderly. About 25% of men between the ages of 60 and 69 report a diminished sense of smell, and about 11% of women aged 60 to 69 report a diminished sense of smell.
