How do medications treat hypogeusia?

Medications can help treat and resolve some of the underlying causes of hypogeusia. Infections, allergies, and dehydration are among the more easily treatable causes of hypogeusia for which medication may be an option. Good dental hygiene is essential to treating and preventing hypogeusia as well. In some cases, if a particular medication is the cause of your hypogeusia your doctor may alter or stop your prescription.
