Absolutely. When you are experiencing stress, your brain reacts by releasing the steroid hormone, cortisol. Though small doses of cortisol are perfectly normal, excessive release of cortisol weakens the immune system, reduces bone formation, disrupts the reproductive system, and raises blood pressure.
