Are there alternative treatments for pelvic inflammatory disease?

Because pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is caused by a bacterial infection, there aren't really any alternative treatments that can help cure it. However, certain things may help reduce symptoms or improve overall health. Doctors often recommend bed rest for women recovering from PID. Diagnosis of a sexually transmitted disease, pelvic inflammatory disease, or infertility may cause shock and emotional distress. Because of this, some women may benefit from resources like support groups or stress management techniques.
