How do other illnesses affect stage 2 squamous cell carcinoma?

Stage 2 squamous cell carcinoma doesn't really affect your body's ability to fight illnesses because it hasn't spread past the skin. However, the condition may indirectly affect your body's response to illness because certain risk factors and treatments for the cancer may weaken your immune system. Some risk factors for squamous cell carcinoma, including certain rare genetic disorders and anything that causes a weakened immune system, may harm your body's ability to fight illness. Treatment, especially surgery and radiation, may also cause illnesses to have a more severe effect.
