How is an abdominal muscle strain treated?

The treatment for an abdominal muscle strain is rest from exercise. An elastic wrap may provide support to the injured muscle. Also, light stretching that does not cause pain will help the muscle heal. (This answer provided for NATA by the University of Montana Athletic Training Education Program.)
