Elbow and shoulder overuse injuries from baseball can be prevented by watching the amount of throwing that kids do.

Shoulder overuse injuries in young baseball and softball players occur mostly in pitchers. Other position players can be affected as well. There are many ways to prevent these types of injuries. These include developing proper pitch and throw mechanics, avoiding throwing breaking balls and limiting the number of pitches thrown.
