How can I use VO2 data to improve my fight performance?

V02 data, also known as VO2 max, maximum aerobic capacity, or maximum oxygen uptake, can help you understand how to train more efficiently and effectively for fights. Your goal is to push your anaerobic threshold higher, so that you can train longer and use your energy systems more effectively. The most beneficial result of the performance test for VO2 max is that it determines your heart rate at the exact point in time when you begin using anaerobic metabolism to generate energy. Regular and consistent exercise at, or above, this heart rate will teach your body to produce less lactic acid as well as buffer it more effectively, allowing you to go longer and harder during your actual fights.
