Should I train with power or heart rate?

The advantage to training with power is that it is more reliable than training with heart rate. Heart rate can be affected by hydration, rest and recovery. Power meters are direct measures of the amount of work you are able to do. For this reason they are a more reliable and accurate training tool. You can expect to track your improvement in power output over the course of your training.
