Can spinal cord tumors be prevented?

Spinal cord tumors cannot be prevented. Much is still unknown about the causes of primary spinal cord tumors, but so far the only determined causes are genetic causes, which are unavoidable. If you do have a spinal cord tumor, the earlier treatment is started, the better. Visit your doctor right away if you are experiencing symptoms of chronic back pain, numbness or muscle weakness, or incontinence.
