Is there a good diet to enhance strength and endurance?

Training for increased muscle strength requires adequate carbohydrate for energy production, adequate protein for muscle growth and repair, and adequate healthy fat for cell membranes, immune function, nerve transmission and more. The specific diet followed would be in part determined by the sport that requires the muscular endurance (i.e. rower, runner, football player, or platform diver, etc.).
