What are sleep disorders?

Sleep disorders are problems with either the quantity or quality of your sleep. There are 88 known sleep disorders and these can be diagnosed and treated by a Board Certified Sleep Specialist. Some of the more common sleep disorders include: obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movements in sleep, and sleep walking.

A sleep disorder is a condition that interferes with your normal sleeping pattern. This interference can take different forms, and may also cause you to act out while you sleep. There are many different sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, and narcolepsy. Sleep disorders have different causes and treatments.
