What are the symptoms of dermatitis?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Dermatitis is a broad term that covers many different skin  disorders. All of them involve symptoms that may include a red itchy rash, blisters, pimples, open sores, and oozing, crusting, or scaling skin. If you think you have symptoms of dermatitis, talk to your primary-care doctor or dermatologist.

Even though dermatitis has many causes, some symptoms are universal. Red skin with an itchy rash is the most common symptom. Other symptoms can include different kinds of sores and swelling. The rash can occur anywhere on the body and may last for a few hours or a long period of time.
