How are hemangiomas treated?

The treatment for many superficial hemangiomas is simply a "tincture of time." Many hemangiomas of the skin will disappear by 10 years of age. Laser therapy may be useful as well for superficial skin hemangiomas. For Cavernous hemangiomas that obstruct the airway or vision, steroid injections may used as well. A combination of both oral and intralesional steroids can be used for mixed hemangiomas.
