There are few long-term effects of hives. In general, hives affect the body through itching or painful welts that will fade over time.
The majority of cases of hives do not place you in danger. Rarely is there a situation that requires emergency medical treatment. Additionally, the long term effects of hives are minimal to none. Some people may experience a reoccurrence of hives if the exact cause of the condition cannot be found.
