Degenerative spinal diseases are caused by the natural aging of our spinal system. This wear and tear can lead to chronic back or neck pain. Other illnesses can complicate treatment options. For example, certain painkillers may not be appropriate to take if you are also taking medication for heart disease. In severe cases, pressure on the nerves can cause bowel or bladder incontinence. These problems can make existing kidney and bladder diseases and urinary tract infections worse.
