How do medications treat albinism?

Medications do not specifically treat albinism. Medications are only prescribed if there are complications present that stem from a syndrome associated with albinism (such as Hermansky-Pudlak or Chediak-Higashi). Avoiding excessive sun exposure and getting yearly eye and skin exams are the main preventive treatments for albinism.
