How do medications treat albinism?

The only treatment for albinism symptoms are corrective lenses to help with the vision complications. The condition does not warrant other medication.

Medications do not specifically treat albinism. Medications are only prescribed if there are complications present that stem from a syndrome associated with albinism (such as Hermansky-Pudlak or Chediak-Higashi). Avoiding excessive sun exposure and getting yearly eye and skin exams are the main preventive treatments for albinism.
